Background of the Study

The cement industry is essential to Nigeria’s infrastructure development, contributing significantly to the country’s economic growth. However, the sector faces challenges such as high labor costs, safety concerns, and inefficiencies in production processes. Sokoto Cement Factory, located in Sokoto State, is one of Nigeria’s key cement manufacturers, yet it faces challenges in optimizing productivity while maintaining high-quality standards.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) robotics offers an innovative solution to these challenges. AI-powered robots can automate various aspects of the manufacturing process, such as material handling, quality control, and maintenance tasks, leading to significant improvements in productivity. Additionally, robotics can enhance precision, reduce human error, and minimize downtime, all of which contribute to more efficient and cost-effective operations. AI robotics also allows for continuous monitoring of production processes, providing real-time data that can inform decision-making and further improve productivity.

This study explores the role of AI robotics in enhancing productivity at Sokoto Cement Factory. It examines how the integration of AI-powered robots into the production process can streamline operations, increase output, and improve the overall efficiency of the cement manufacturing process.

Statement of the Problem

Sokoto Cement Factory, like many manufacturing plants, faces productivity challenges due to manual processes, high labor costs, and frequent operational inefficiencies. The factory seeks to optimize its production while maintaining high-quality standards. AI robotics presents a solution, but its application in cement manufacturing remains limited. This study investigates the role of AI robotics in enhancing productivity at Sokoto Cement Factory.
